War at sea
While Wellington, Napoleon and other celebrated commanders fought memorable battles on land, the high seas produced their own heroes and villains, such as Nelson and Villeneuve. Naval strategy played a crucial role in determining the fortunes of the great Empires - whether preventing invasions, blocking trade routes or simply decimating any adversary who entered a country’s waters. Imperial Glory lets you relive the exploits of the era’s finest mariners, as you battle for mastery of the waves.
Fast, manoeuvrable vessel, but small and with poor firepower.

The Sloop is the smallest war vessel of the era, with firepower ranging between 16 to 30 cannons, armed on a single deck. It displaces a maximum weight of 500 tons and is much more manoeuvrable than Ships of the Line. This ship is generally used in escort and support roles. It can transport one army.
Moderately sized vessel, with average speed and firepower.

The Frigate was created as an alternative to the huge Ships of the Line; the idea being to create a vessel with strong offensive capabilities but greater manoeuvrability. Armed with an average of between 30 and 50 cannons, a crew of 300-600 hands and displacing a weight of 800 to 1200 tons, Frigates could bring victory to anyone skilful enough to use them to full effect. They can transport up to two armies.
Ship of the Line
Slowest vessel, but possessing the most devastating firepower.

The Ship of the Line is the largest, most devastating war vessel of the age. Armed with between 60 and 100 cannons across 3 decks; manned by a crew of at least 600 hands; ranging from around 50 to 70 metres in length and displacing 1200 to 4000 tons, their poor manoeuvrability is more than made up for by truly awesome fire power. It can transport up to two armies.
